I went to the National Rainbow Gathering in the Uintahs back in 2003. I wasn't surprised, but there were quite a few men and women just wandering around the forest with no cloths on. Probably the closest I'm going to get to the 60's and 70's era of free love and bra burning.

It was awkward just a bit, but they didn't seem to think anything of it, so neither did I. I mean, anyone who wants to run around naked waaaayyyy out in the wilderness should be able to do so. It's not like they're walking around your neighborhood and knocking on your front door, right?

Whenever I camp, I always layout naked. Hiking, umm, not so sure about that, but, I have no problem with others doing it. Just dont hug me, thanks.

I don't think I would nude hike because I would feel like I was fishing for mosquitoes or poison oak, but more power to those that wish to. What is the problem with people who think nudity and sex are taboo and shouldn't be seen, yet violence and death are socially acceptable.

That sounds like a very relaxing and enlightening experience.
I think nudity in these areas should be permitted.
It isn't a public location like a city or anything.

Plus, you'd feel much more in touch with nature.
Which is always fun.

i can see the idea of hiking naked. i get what they're getting at. it's all about being back to basics in nature. however, i totally agree with this law.

who are the fucking idiots that want to go hiking into nature in the nude? I want to know that way the next time they are in the lunch room, I know not to sit next to those dumb ass shits....

I think it's wonderful that there seems to be such a thriving naturist community in Germany (though why Germany and not so much in other parts?). Hiking up steep mountains in hot weather has often made me wish I was a nudist. what's wrong with the human body?

I used to lay out on a nudist beach. I developed an aesthetic appreciation for all human nudity. Young, old. fat, thin, the human body is a beautiful thing! Being naked outside feels light and freeing, sensual and sublimely erotic. Above all it's an incredibly natural feeling. I recommend you give it a try sometime - perhaps in the quiet of your own back garden...

I love hiking naked! The body is natural, do you cringe with disgust every time you shower? We all have the same stuff just a minor variation or two. I wouldn't wear clothing in town if I knew jail time wasn't eminent.

Aren't the Swiss neutral on all issues?

Why it may satisfy some aesthetic idea, hiking naked seems quite impractical. Bugs, sun, thorns and brush all would present new and unpleasant obstacles with out clothes to protect the sensitive areas of our respective natures.

Not everyone likes an uneventan :P

I don't see the problem with it personally, but o could see how some people would be offended by it. Now if only they could have the women backpack naked ;)

Yeah, its an awful thing. If our Creator had meant for us to walk around naked, we would be born that way.

i'm a huge fan of backpacking and the outdoors but there's no way i'd go in less clothing than i do. thats probably also caused by the amount of bugs we have here in the south on the appalachian trail. also i lead trips for youth and young people... that could cause quite an awkward situation. i can just see it now.. i take a group of my grade school youth from church hiking and they come back telling their parents they saw adam and eve in the forest. ha. fun times..
