Fallen Hero Ming Sun

RubyVideo
The Veterans For Peace, AMVETS Post 19 and Code Pink brought the family of fallen Hero Ming Sun to his statue in Patriot Park, Cathedral City California for a memorial service marking two years from his loss. Ming was the first Chinese National killed in the line of duty while serving for the US in Iraq and the second soldier killed from the Coachella Valley.

The VFP is dedicated to peace but recognizes the sacrifices that are made by our military and their families. It is for this reason that this tribute was made.

    • When the Pentagon profits from war and the arms dealers profit from war the people and the country always pay the price for their benefit.

Are we all slaves to the military industrial complex that President Eisenhower warned us about? We must stop war and take back our freedom.

Yeah, but every time I hear "he or she died for our country and freedom", I say BULLSHIT!! If we were invaded by hordes and they died fighting against them, THAT might be different. Unfortunately, these kids and older folks are/were sacrificed in never-ending wars for lowlife scumbags like Kissinger, Cheney, Wolfowitz, Perle, Feith, Rice, Rove, McNamara, the generals and admirals in bed with the MICC (see next sentence), and other criminals and their greed for money and power. You're right on the money--we're slaves under an out-of-control military-industrial-CONGRESSIONAL complex. The GI's, as far as I'm concerned, are/were murder victims. The real freedom fighters are the GI resisters. It seems that every 20-40 years, the gov't needs to cull the kid and poor population. WHY?? And to top it off, we're not even talking about present and future soldier/vet suicides and deaths from exposure to depleted uranium and other toxins. I pity all the families of the GI's as well, not just Ming's. Sorry--a folded piece of cloth, a statue, and/or a name on a wall would be a poor trade for MY kid. Absolutely right--war is a waste and must be stopped. There's no win whatsoever. Now I'll probably again be accused of bashing the troops, which is not true, but I've got to tell it the way I see it.

    • Trouble is, everyone killed in Afghanistan and Iraq have died for the CORPORATIONS, NOT the country. If they died for the country, then why does the Pentagon sell weapons to everyone all over the world, "friend" and potential foe?
