Italian right-to-die row deepens

Eluana Englaro has been in coma for 17 of her 38 years. Her family is fighting for her right to die. Italy's PM drafted a decree to prevent her feeding tubes from being removed, but the president would not sign it.

    • The family is being truly honest but so is the president. He obviously fears God. The parents probably also believe. It is a very tough situation. My opinion is that she should be kept alive.

    • I guess this situation and the consequent decision is going to affect every country's government sooner or later. But I think it's still going to take many years before a unified approach is reached and codified in eg the ECHR
