An 11-year-old boy is facing adult charges after allegedly shooting his father's pregnant girlfriend at point-blank range. Kenzie Marie Houk, 26, was eight months pregnant and was found by her 4-year-old daughter. If convicted, the boy faces a maximum sentence of life in prison. The boy used a gun designed for use by children.
There are lots of things that are very wrong and tragic in this story to me, but one thing that stands out is that he was using a gun made for children - what? Why would anyone ever manufacture those?
