A father who stepped in to cover for the school lollipop man has been banned from doing this by police.
The reason behind is not that he needs to vetted first and checked to ensure the safety of the children, oh no, the reason is that he has not been fully trained to carry out the job.
He is already a football coach who works with children and has a CRB check.
