The government commissioned the report last September after a leaked list identified 15 BNP members as teachers.
Members of the BNP are currently banned from joining either the police force or the prison service.

You can't teach and encourage students to be open minded towards each other if you're not open minded yourself. I agree with the other comments here.

I dont think it really matters, as if they do express their views, they are breaching there terms, and rules of teaching.

But how can you not be sure they'll hold a predjudice against one of the students for being black?

I think this is kind of horrendous.
If someone is so closed minded to be a paying member of a racist party, how can they be trusted not to act on those prejudices in their classroom? - 1 year ago

I don't agree with this. There's a reason BNP members are banned from the police & prison service- its because there's no guarantee that their beliefs will not have a impact on their practice such as to cause bias & discrimination.
Our beliefs underpin the way we behave & act & this will undoubtly influence these teachers in their practice in the classroom.
How can we employee individuals who hold racist beliefs teach the kids of our future?? - 1 year ago

I could understand that teachers who are perhaps very strong (or maybe even narrow) minded political followers are perhaps allowed to teach regarding they do not force their view or lecture the students. That is fair enough. However, BNP followers are subjective and could be prejeduce towards the students. How are racists allowed to teach when there is supposed to be a fair and balanced class?
