Parties and cider drinkers respond to the 2010 Budget

The Tory shadow chancellor George Osborne calls Labour's 2010 Budget "empty" and warns voters of a "stealth tax".

The Liberal Democrats say both Labour and the Tories are "in denial" about the need to cut spending.

Chancellor Alistair Darling says decisions about spending cuts should wait until after the election and that Labour's policies are "bearing fruit".

Speaking of which, cider drinkers have begun to stow away barrels as Sunday marks the beginning of a 10% tax on the drink. (About 15p per pint according to the BBC.)

Parents of young children rejoice as the chancellor ads £4 to the child tax credit (in 2012). Just enough for a pint of cider...
