Cycling scheme hits one million mark (in Dublin)

While London has got started with its cycle hire scheme, perhaps they might want to learn from Dublin in Ireland, which it reached its millionth bike ride over the weekend.

Dublin City Council launched the cycle hire scheme called "Dublinbikes" back in September 2009 to encourage cycling and it has 37,000 members (their target was 2,000 in the first year). Dublin City Council are planning more stations and bikes in the future. The cycle hire scheme currently operating in 18 countries (Dublin and London included).
