    • Psymoniac:

You asked for a source on the Cossiga article, but then you removed your comment. You'll have to translate the page, but here it is:

      http://translator.live.com/BV.aspx?ref=IE8Activity&a=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.corrie...

      Osama-Berlusconi? Trappola giornalistica

È un videomontaggio di Mediaset e fatto giungere ad Al Jazira per rilanciare il Cavaliere in difficoltà

And the paragraph that you will translate is as follows:

    • No one came out and attacked the former PRESIDENT OF ITALY when he said the same thing that Ahmedinnajacket said about 9/11 being an inside job created by US and Israeli security services, in both the private and government sectors.
      ***

Former Italian President Francesco Cossiga, who revealed the existence of Operation Gladio, has told Italy’s oldest and most widely read newspaper that the 9-11 terrorist attacks were run by the CIA and Mossad, and that this was common knowledge among global intelligence agencies. In what translates awkwardly into English, Cossiga told the newspaper Corriere della Sera:

“All the [intelligence services] of America and Europe…know well that the disastrous attack has been planned and realized from the Mossad, with the aid of the Zionist world in order to put under accusation the Arabic countries and in order to induce the western powers to take part … in Iraq [and] Afghanistan.”

    • Indeed, if you actually read what Ahmadinejad said, it becomes clear that the point of his speech was to connect the 9/11 attacks to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, which are still ongoing. No matter how much you may abhor Ahmadinejad, with good cause, this is a key point that is rarely, if ever, reiterated at international summits by politicians.
Without 9/11 as justification there would have certainly been no war in Afghanistan, and little international support for the invasion of Iraq. In accounting for the fallout of these wars of aggression, 9/11 must therefore be addressed. A thorough independent investigation of what happened on 9/11, how the attacks were carried out and by whom should have been the very least we could have expected – instead, it is now accepted as the norm that it is somehow “offensive”, “bizarre” or “hateful” to ask for a plausible explanation of the events, or even to talk about it.
This mindset is one step away from erasing the event from history altogether. It only serves to create even more suspicion that in turn drives people to explore the evidence and discover the truth for themselves.

    • im1mjrpain:

im1mjrpain that's a good point. You can't be anti-war without fully addressing 9/11. We would have never had a reason to even be in Iraq and Afghanistan had it not been for the "New Pearl Harbor" 9/11.

    • FTA:["Representatives of the US and other Western countries walked out during the speech to express their protest over the Iranian leader's "failure to uphold the official 9/11 Commission's version of September 11, 2001"]

Right, because the commission report most certainly overrides any other form of insight and investigation. Those who walked out over his speech were not protesting--they were embarrassed. If they had nothing to hide and it was that obvious he was wrong, none of them would have moved, but laughed. Many are using the fallacy of opposition to discredit him--you don't have to like him, but only listen to his reasoning.

Nobody knows who exactly said it (whether it was Goebbels or Hitler, or someone else entirely), but the quote "If you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes the truth" is most certainly ingrained into nearly every American in some form or another. In the case of the twin towers, what was fed 24/7 from news agencies around the country and from our former president (especially when wrapped in a nice patriotism sandwich, squirted with the national security condiment), people began to eat up. I'm not saying either side is right, necessarily, but I am saying there was incentive for our government to do so. Through the lens of mainstream media, the power of our collective minds can be greatly funneled.

I've always said that truth often extends only as far as the boundaries of people's selfish hopes and wants. The ignorant would prefer to blame some terrorist organization, and stomp them out with the might of our democratic society; these people would never dare consider that our system may be flawed, and that certain cards are (or were) in play that we are unaware of. For democracy to work, bliss cannot be derived from ignorance.

"Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."
      Benjamin Franklin

    • Ahmadinejad is trolling the UN with his absurd comments. I will say that we had it coming when we supported Bin Laden in Afghanistan. 9/11 was a result of our support for such terrorist organizations but other than that, we didn't plant bombs in our own buildings and all that BS that some people are so obsessed with. Conspiracies make life more interesting one could say.

No bombs... then please explain building 7 to me. I'm just dying to know how it fell at free fall speed in approx. 7 seconds without being hit by an airplane. The floor is all yours...

    • How anyone can take this guy seriously is beyond me. Just by saying what he does about 9/11 is a discredit to all of those non-insane people who have legitimate questions/theories about what really happened. He's an attention seeking moron who's treatment of those in his country is absolutely appalling and disgusting. Why the U.N. even allows him to spout off like this is mind boggling to me.

That makes no sense.... Iran kills homosexuals, and Liberals... well, Liberals don't kill homosexuals.

I'm not sure I see the tie-in with the comic posted and your comment.

I think you'll find that it's Republican's who are against Gays in the military, and Gay marriage.

I find that most College students are either liberal leaning, or centrist.
I call them educated. You would call them Elitist.

the person you parallel your "logic" with is the same person who hangs homosexuals for BEING homosexuals..

that "US is evil and will do anything" liberal mentality is long before the 911 event....hence you will SELECT the kind of "truth" AND DEFEND anything that you can that can align with your liberal agenda...

i have no liberal agenda, so much so i dont even vote.

the truth is our government has a long history of valuing any number of interests greater than our lives.not to the level of the soviets or the chinese, but far more so than many other nations.from love canal, to the west memphis three, we kill our own for political gains.the facts of 9-11 point to two reasonable conclusions.either the governments line that muslim extremists did it, or it was an inside job.

out of curiosity what do you thing the bay of pigs was?
      kent state?
      internment camps?
      watergate?
      vietnam?
all of these things just made up by liberals? or maybe the reasonable basis by wich could view 9-11 as an inside job.
this isnt tough stuff really, what is your deal?and with the broad assumptions created for name calling? wtf is your problem?
