Nine Bulgarians have been arrested in an international police operation, targeting an organized crime group for human trafficking from Bulgaria to Germany and France, the Interior Ministry has announced.

The investigation has began after the border police in Bulgaria was alarmed about human trafficking for sexual exploitation in Germany and France.

The police from the three countries have cooperated and established an organized crime group, which sent Bulgarian girls into prostitution in European countries.

A 26-year-old Bulgarian man, known as Mecho (Teddy Bear), was found to be the organizer of the gang, which found girls, transported them to Germany and France and accommodated them. There, the girls were solicited into prostitution and the collected money went into Mecho's pocket.
