Breaking: Former Tunisian president Ben Ali victim of a stroke

At 21:48 this evening, France leading news site LeFigaro reported that former Tunisian president Zine El Abidine Ben Ali had a stroke, and was quickly rushed to a hospital in Jeddah. Ben Ali and his wife fled to Saudi Arabia following a popular uprising demanding the ouster of the Tunisian dictator.

He was admitted to a hospital which caters to Saudi princes under an assumed identity for security purposes. His condition is said to be critical.

Ben Ali has apparently been ill for a few years, and the victim of added stress since his departure from Tunisia. His wife, Leila Travelsi is reportedly no longer with him.
