The Tripoli Post reported today that Libyan leader Muammar al-Qaddafi requested a UN or African Union independent inquiry into his country's unrest during an interview with the French weekly Le Journal du Dimanche. He also claimed that investigators would have complete and free access in order to conduct such an inquiry.
He re-iterated that if he were to step down from leadership in Libya, that the country would fall into the hands of al-Qaeda, and that its members would most certainly become the new pirates of the Mediterannean, and would create chaos, which would in turn have very serious consequences for Europe. Though he continues to use al-Qaeda as the source of all evil which managed to turn Libyans against him using hallucinogenic drugs, he is now unleashing by proxy the wrath of the Islamist extremist group, a branch of which is already installed in the Maghreb, of which Libya is part.
He played on the already heightened fears that Europe would see an unprecedented avalanche of Libyans migrants which 'no one will be able to stop', and that ben-Laden's men would attack the U.S. Sixth Fleet.
