Distressed individual, resists restraining, gets tased, dies. Are these "defensive" weapons really that safe?

    • My brother is a diabetic and went into a diabetic coma on a bus. Because he didn't get off the bus, the police were called. Because he was unable to respond to their requests (being in a comma), they tasered him with 50,000 volts. Because he still failed to move, they did again. And then guess what, because he was sitting duck, they did it again. The first he knew of what happened was coming round in the back of police van, handcuffed, even after the police had clearly discovered he was diabetic.

The claim that the innocent have nothing to fear does simply not add up when so many people have disabilities which make them unable to respond to police requests in a 'normal' way. Widening the use of tasers is very worrying indeed.
