Trees hitting power lines likely caused Bastrop wildfires, not global warming

Unfortunately, the reason for the recent Bastrop, TX wildfires was a bit more mundane than the climate change, global warming reasons given by many global warming promoters.

Forest Service report says two sites show evidence of lines sending sparks into tinder below.

Trees that came crashing into overhead power lines earlier this month probably caused the fire that has devoured more than 34,000 acres and 1,600 homes in Bastrop County, according to an investigation released by the Texas Forest Service on Tuesday.

Wind gusts reaching more than 30 mph on Sept. 4 apparently severed trees at two locations that tumbled into the electrical lines, causing sparks that fell into the dry grass and tree litter below.

The power lines identified in the Forest Service's report belong to Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative, which has been working to restore power to more than 4,000 meters since the fire.

Bluebonnet CEO Mark Rose said the utility is reviewing the report, according to a statement issued Tuesday.

Bluebonnet has its own investigators in the field, and based on available information, "we believe high winds caused large trees to fall from outside of our rights-of-way and hit overhead power lines at the Charolais Drive and Schwantz Ranch Road locations," Rose said in the statement.

According to the statement, Bluebonnet's investigators say the tree that fell at Schwantz Ranch Road was outside of the co-op's right of way, where a utility may clear vegetation to access its lines and to prevent any hazards.

    • "Forest Service report says two sites show evidence of lines sending sparks into tinder below." And so, trees brushing against power lines caused the drought that made the tinder that lit up when trees brushed against the power lines that lit the tinder caused by the drought caused by the trees (not by climate change) that brushed against the power lines ...
What kind of fools are these people?
