Days after Giles Fraser resigned as canon chancellor of St Paul’s, the cathedral’s dean the Rt Rev Graeme Knowles has also quit his job.
The high-ranking cleric is believed to have left his post due to criticism of his handling of the Occupy the London Stock Exchange protests, stating that his position had become ‘untenable.’
The latest development from St Paul’s comes as protesters were given a 48-hour notice to leave their camp from the City of London Corporation.
If protesters fail to respond to the order, legal proceedings to evict them will begin, increasing concerns that demonstrators will be forcibly removed.
