Homeless charity Shelter has warned that an estimated 35,000 people could lose their home by Christmas 2011.

The figures released state that 630 people a day will receive a letter threatening the loss of their home between now and Christmas – an alarming statistic of one person every two minutes.

Shelter’s research is revealed as the charity launches its Christmas campaign, highlighting the problems people threatened with homelessness are up against, including stress-related illness and family breakdown.
