The woman is also the mother of a gay son, and during a question/answer session, she admitted feeling a "sense of guilt" for supporting Santorum, who her son claims "hates gays." That's when Karen Santorum stepped in and came to her husband's defense, chiding "gay activists" for vilifying her husband.
