American Steel- A hive of art, industry and innovation:
We are shaping our 250,000 square foot industrial warehouse into an interface for sustainability through the development in 3 major areas of industry. A salvage and reuse industry, urban farming, and the "hive"...a mosaic of sustainability businesses, artists, and innovators. We are shaping a sustainable landscape which creates new innovative jobs and industries through the cross-pollination of the many aspects of sustainability being localized here in our warehouse. We are localizing our economy through custom fabrication of salvage and reused materials to create alternative energy, alternative building and fabrication methods, and urban farming solutions- all with the undercurrent of arts and innovation as the fabric of everything that we do. We want to develop our vision of sustainability into one which is an indispensable service to our community and a model of opportunity by providing green, affordable goods and services as well as a forum for participation and education in the art of sustainability!

    • The things that have been coming out of American Steel and its collected groups over the years have been nothing short of incredible. And so far they have been running on little more than local fund raising and raw devotion to the cause. With a little help from the greater community, the efforts and advances they have been making towards sustainable methods of building, design and culture could be revolutionary
