You give it away in the title. Tony has nothing to do with selling Sony - BUT - somehow or another you made it work! "Get it right the first time" really saves it and the Boss is powerful on screen.

Did you shoot this in HD? What seems to be the problem with the playback is that it was shot in a higher quality & bandwidth than the Current player can handle. Give me a shout if you want more geeky advice, I'm happy help you out even if you didn't gl my piece :-)

Yeah. This is fun, good concept and well acted. I know all about the compression blues. I have them too! Take a look at my XM ad. I've noticed that the criticism you've given is positive and to the point. My Ad is called "Heads Up-(Sattelite Version 3.0)
I've gone throught three versions with some content change, but mostly to get the compression right. No luck.

I appreciate the feedback...i personally like the style of older action films, where it's the action itself and not the editing, shakiness, and tight-framing that make the scene. I think too much these days is in the MTV style. Films like Bullitt, the Longest Day, and even Saving Private Ryan...

The action could have been faster and tighter but the concept made up for it's slight lack of pace. Don't get me wrong, it was good, I just think that the cuts could have been faster and the framing could have been closer in. All, in all I liked it. Good job.

I'd GL it. (In fact, did.) That said, I think the final note ("Get it right the first time") would hit harder if the boss did something -- or was implied to do something -- that was more threatening than just bark a little. Even just a hint would do: He's got that gun on the table -- if he picked it up and chambered a round while saying his last line, that final missive would pack some serious punch, even if he never pointed the gun at anyone. (Alternatively, he might just gesture to some other thugs, who seize the errand-boy before we cut, with the consequences implied.)

Good job. I like the Rubix Cube and calendar details.

Great concept on the video, very funny. Love the editing and music. To bad about the compression, its the only thing distracting from the video.

That sucks you can't update it. I found myself thinking about it at the grocery store...so you done good gettin in my noodle.

Nice job. I know you can't resubmit, my only comment is the products at the end are like an afterthought. Would be stronger if they were incorporated more into the theme of your piece.

Yeah, I realize the interlace lines are annoying, but the Current support staff won't respond to my emails and I'm unable to upload any new versions at this point.

You might want to recompress...major field problems and tons of compression artifacts made it almost unwatchable.

I forgot to give your actors some love. I thought they did a great job.

On a personal note, I'm not a fan of the mafia motif, but your production value gives it the green. I agree with others who think you could get it down to 30. It wouldn't hurt the story a bit.

GL Funny. Try your deinterlace filter to get rid of the lines.

Check out Sister Beatrice Explores. She used to have same lines until I deinterlaced her.

It COULD be a compression issue- but I think it has to do with interlacing.

Great concept. I like the idea of micommunication (Tony-Sony) I did recognize the compression issue and would love to see a cleaner version.

Using violence and tough guy approach is not complmentary to the product. I would hope that Sony would find this as distateful as I do. Use your creativity like the The Big Mirror does to display a product not another bad boy approach.

Whoops, I thought I greenlit this a while back. I definitely remember it and that's a very good thing when you remember commercials, right? Very memorable concept and acting. I think it could be shorter to give it more of a punch, but it's great! GL!

I think the interlacing has something to do with the compression...I shot with a DVX at 30P.

was the interlacing on purpose? what camera did you shoot with?

If you rename this vcam from "Sony Not Tony" to something else you wont be giving your punchline away

I like the action in this pod. The chase scene is a classic!

The conclusion feels a little cluttered to me, with all the product photos. A less-is-more approach may make it feel more focused.

Well-done blando3, pretty tight. Good writing, shooting, editing and sound effects. I would have believed it more if the mob boss was older and the "heavy's" acting was better. Casting good actors and directing them well is difficult. Stick with this medium (commercials), you do it well.

Well, in my defense, I think you're being rather harsh judging it based on some poor compression format. It wasn't shot on HD (doesn't have to be - check the rules) and Current TV's upload and compression system hasn't worked well for me...I'll try again and hopefully you'll like it more. Thanks for the feedback.

it's a good play. but the video quality (or the photography) did not match this ad's subject-- HD.

I think this piece is extremely well produced, but conceptually, I don't think its the strongest commercial of the bunch. Just my two cents.

The humor is great, and the tagline of "get it right the first time" is something that will be attractive to Sony. I could see them using that as a slogan. However, I think the spot failed to convince how "life is better with Sony HD", other than that the bossman wanted Sony products specifically. Nice job overall, though, a top contender!

Background was a bit washed out on the early scenes but at least the subject was well lit. Would have been best to shoot agains a darker wall.

Ok what u gotta do is just go to the place where u upload a NEW video, for the sony hd commercial, then the first question for uploading your video is "Is this new", select instead of "new pod" (which is the default), select updated version of sony not tony or whatever it is. And that does it! Just gotta wait like a million days for current to accept it, and your good. The format i used is just .avi, but thats irrelevant. What didn't work for me, and probably you had the same issue, was editing the video and doing the upload from the button next to your video. Good luck!
