The assignment cleary states that you have to make an advert for The Sims 2: Seasons OR The Sims 2. This is about The Sims 2, so there's nothing wrong with it.
Anyway, I loved it. Great, clear shots and tells a great story. My only criticism would be its length, its a tad long. But besides that, its excellent! Well done :)

While you make it shorter, render at 640x480 and not at 720x480. That way, you will get rid of the black rectangles that flank your vid.
