Finally, an American who lives in America who gets it ! I live in "old Europe" and watching Americans being "brainwashed" sickened me. Now the fog has lifted, but the abuse of power continues.
Rewind to 76 "Network" - " I`m mad as hell, and I`m not going to take it anymore" .....If everyone yelled Plisko`s message out their window -maybe someone at the White House would hear it.

Great message! I can feel your anger! It pissed me off to no end the blatant hypocrisy particularly with so-called law and order republicans.

We almost threw Clinton out of office for a damn blowjob but Bush who has led us into the quagmire of Iraq, trampled civil liberties, and pardoned Libby is able to get away with dragging the US down. Enough is enough!

On another note - video and audio quality: I don't see the problem. It's a guy talking to the camera. I can hear him perfectly well. Not every pod has to have bells and whistles to be effectiveand this pod is effective. Good work!

I made this shortly after Current Picked up Stick Man. That video has very high production value. I had a studio, a rear screen projector, a crew and everything.. . . It cost me a lot of favors and some money. When it won the leaderboard, Current then explained to me that they weren't going to consider all that production value when paying me, however. Their reasoning is that, on Current, you can be successful without production value so the visual quality of my work didn't provide any real leverage.

I vowed then to only ever make videos that have less than $500 worth of work so that I don't get burned again.

Love the message. It pisses me off how the public lets this blatant abuse of power by President Huss..I mean Bush ease by without consequence. I do believe in the coming years the truth will be known and our country will look back on this period with shame and embarrassment.

I like the straight forward nature of the commentary. No need for glitz just tell the truth. peace

I agree with the spirit of clemency. A president or a governor has an opportunity to correct things if the system fails. I think we can all agree that the system fails from time to time.

The problem is, as you say, clemency has changed. It was intended as something that is used to help poor people who couldn't afford a proper defense, or people who unearthed new evidence that the court wont hear. What it has become is something that helps rich white collar criminals that hire dream team lawyers and spend millions on their defense, yet still come up guilty.

I would also submit that, while Clinton's pardons were a disgrace, they were not used to stop an investigation that may have gotten him in trouble. Bush has dropped to a new low for the clemency. I'm not even sure it IS legal or legitemate. The founders specifically stated that clemency could not be used by the president to protect his own ass.

Oh, that was scripted? I'm kidding. What intensity. This is great. Although I believe it was the Presidents right to pardon who he chooses, this pod should be seen. Pardons always seem like an abuse of power to those sitting on the other side of the fence. As in Clinton's last minute pardons, the right mocked him. Now it's the left turn to mock Mr. Bush. Two wrongs don't make a right and you are right when saying how much more do we put up with? If President's can pardon, they will always pardon their friends as in Bush's case. Or family, as in Clinton's case.

Thanks man. I was actually targeting younger people who don't pay much attention to this stuff and my goal was to use very clear terminology and, as you say, to cut right through it and get to the heart of the outrage.

I'm glad it worked for you. This is the first of my rant pods that I actually scripted.

Editing is fine and all, but what you did right... what very few in the media and even the blogosphere can do right... is cut thru the BS and lay it out straight, it plain language, without being boring or pedantic.

Awesome job, dude. Someone like Keith Olbermann or Thom Hartmann could really use a writer like you.

I think some of Clinton's pardons were also a disgrace. I notice a lot of conservatives holding up his example now as a justification for this disgrace, like two wrongs make a right.

This is the problem. Disgraceful behavior is becoming status quo. Tony Snow is actually arguing that people leak things for their own purposes all the time in Washington so outing a spy as retaliation is no big deal.

What is the next president going to do that will require him or her to point at Bush and say "Well Bush commuted Libby and nobody went to jail then either. . . ?"

Ford spared Nixon his accountability moment as a way to "heal the country."

At what point do Americans NEED to see their crooked leaders go to jail in order to begin the healing process?

Presidential pardons have been an outrage going back as long as I can remember. Our last two Presidents have definitely abused this power.
