Vinyl Junky

Beat digger, hip hop producer and music historian. All monikers that barely begin to describe Shane "DJ Sureshot" Hunt. Few people in the world have as many records as Sureshot, even fewer still have his ear for music and producing. Vinyl Junky is a brief glimpse into Sureshot's world and the world of record collecting and independent hip hop.

    • hey AJ, thanks a lot.
For this short i thought i'd focus on one theme and dig into it, not cherry pick. So I chose to focus on the "vinyl" aspect of sureshots personality, although he produces dope stuff. So you'd like to see lower 3rds and credit the music from the get?
You can get the sharpshooters music at the light in the attic web site. I just did a music video for another LITA band. Thanks again bud - pace

    • I liked this pod a lot, although I wish that it focused more on how he makes his music. Lots of the footage was him digging through vinyl, which is extremely interesting, especially when he talks about putting a jazz bass line over a country drum beat. However, I would've loved more footage of him actually making the music. How did he make the album for under $1,000? Anyways, I digress, this pod had a lot of fantastic things going for it. He put an interesting spin on the "rising musician" profile pod. DJs always talk about digging through records, but this explains it clearly. Great character, good movement, excellent soundtrack. I'd like to know at the beginning whether we are listening to his actual music. Also, there should be music for the first couple seconds. Great pod, hope it gets on TV!
