    • Dez1, that is an interesting comment. I have thought about how I wanted to capture this 'black cultural expression' through the music and musician. I also thought about how it relates to my being from a different cultural background. I believe that true documentaries captures the feelings and views through an outside perspective, in my case, a lot of the cultural elements were fairly new to my hearing. Through an outside perspective, I hope that people who see this film, will view this film differently, through their perspective, depending on their cultural background because there are also social elements like oppression, which is arguably one of the reasons that lead to the birth of hip hop, but was definitely present during the the time hip hop came around in America . It is interesting opening up conversations from different cultural background about how the social past can be related to the social present through hip hop.
