Remnants of War

Around the world, thousands of innocent civilians are killed each year by landmines and unexploded ordnance. Non-profit organizations like Golden West Humanitarian Foundation tackle the problem head on by educating local populations about landmine safety and by providing technological solutions for the removal of landmines and unexploded ordnance.

    • Great report for an organization that does great work. Folks in the US need to be more aware of this problem since it doesn't directly effect us, but maims, injures, kills so many innocent people around the globe. The US needs to join the 1997 Mine Ban Treaty... one of 39 countries left to hold out!

    • It's crazy that land mines aren't banned worldwide. The US should take the lead on this issue, rather than dragging its feet.
