A Bronx Story

As a filmmaker I appreciate your approach to telling an untold story... Way to go Jeanine!

Thats a great program, the kids will really develop strong discipline with the hard work they put in. The video was cool but production wise it didn't pick up till around the end when music was brought in and the editing was a lot tighter. Lots of respect to you for documenting a real socially rewarding program.

Refreshing and inspiring story.

This was really nice and inspiring. Kids can learn anything if given the right tools and instruction. they are not born with bias or thinking they cannot succeed, they are taught this by ignorance and the ignorant. More programs should be out there for the young. For those of us far from our teen years, if we think back to those days we will realize how bored most of the time we were. Kids should be kept active and their minds always thinking.

....Jeanine....great project....very well done...there is such a need to have people learn to create.....so many have never had the opportunity..and they see so much destruction everyday of their life....I was extremely lucky to grow up around artisans that showed me how to do many trades....thank you for letting me know about this and keep up the great work...the camera is such a strong tool...to open minds and teach...Golden Ruler...Johnnie Hargrave

I think these hands on experiences are a really effective way to learn. I also think it's good for them to get out of their comfort zone which always builds character and exposes them to things they might enjoy which they wouldn't have been exposed to otherwise. Good effort!

Thank you for highlighting positive programs. Our youth need the reinforcement and exposure. Keep up the good work.

Great program!

This program reminds me of one that I witnessed a few years back where Bronx and other area youths (some from gangs) were taken to similar places shown to do landscaping after cleaning up the garbage while learning about the local ecology.
I can't recall the name of the organization behind it but, like this, it was very, very cool.

What struck me about this story, which I had researched previously, is that these young people are really heroes who are making it despite the odds. The visuals of learning about life and interacting with other through the real metaphor of building a sailboat amazed me. Hopefully you will enjoy it too. AND DON"T FORGET TO VOTE FOR MY FRIEND!!
