The Trews @ The Town Ballroom (EXCLUSIVE)

On February 26, The Trews rocked the Town Ballroom in Buffalo and John-Angus MacDonald sat down with SkunkPost before the show.

John-Angus MacDonald (Lead Guitarist of The Trews) sat down and gave an exclusive interview before The Trews played an acoustic show at the Town Ballroom.

The Trews are a Canadian rock band from Antigonish, Nova Scotia, consisting of vocalist Colin MacDonald, guitarist John-Angus MacDonald, bassist Jack Syperek, and drummer Sean Dalton. After moving to the Niagara Falls area the band found their break when they won a high profile contest, in 2002, held annually by a Southern Ontario rock radio station, which lead to them landing a recording contract.

In 2009 The Trews were nominated for two Juno awards, Album of the Year and Group of the Year. For those that are not aware, the Juno Awards are Canada's version of the Grammy Awards. The Trews have had great success in our neighbor to the north, and many boarder city's. Even with the comforts of success, the band is still challenging themselves and giving its fans an evolving sound, as demonstrated with their newest album Trews Acoustic - Friends And Total Strangers.

Song featured in video is "Sing Your Heart Out"- 2009

Special thanks to John-Angus MacDonald and The Trews for giving me the opportunity to talk with and film them.
