74 year old Jimmy has been running all his life. With the support of his wife, friends and family he's raced around the world. From Athens to Beijing, Jimmy's gained a reputation as a formidable long distance runner.
Training every day, he's a familiar sight to the residents of Much Wenlock - a tiny town in Shropshire noted for its glacial landscape, 7th century abbey and medieval architecture.
Evacuated from Liverpool as a child, living in Much Wenlock has had a profound effect on Jimmy's athletics. For it was here in 1851 that the town's doctor, William Penny Brooks, founded the modern Olympic Games.
Sill held annually on the school playing fields, the Wenlock games inspired the founding of the modern Olympics by a Frenchman, Pierre de Coubertin, who visited Brooks in 1889.
Our film follows Jimmy's preparations for the 2008 summer games. From training on a cold spring morning to competing in midsummer, Jimmy's ultimate goal is to succeed once again as a Wenlock Olympian.
