Thank you to everyone who produced a VCAM for this assignment. There were many amazing submissions; T-Mobile did not have an easy time making selections.
Thanks everyone,

Hi everyone!
We wanted to get back to you regarding Fouzer1's T-Mobile G1 VCAM. In general, it is not a good idea to include brand name products in your VCAMs; doing so could prevent your VCAM from being selected. We highly discourage you from including shots of any products that are recognizable -- and you must have the rights for every image in your VCAM.
Occasionally, but very rarely, we are able to make exceptions to this rule -- and Fouzer1's VCAM represents one of these cases. Unfortunately, there isn't a hard and fast rule about when an exception will be made. Ultimately, it's a decision made by our Business Affairs legal team. However, to be safe, I encourage you to stay away from any brands/products other than those mentioned in the VCAM assignment.

It would be nice if there were viewer favorites, current favorites as well as the client's selections. As aaliyah would say, "if at first you don't succeed, pick yourself up and make a really conservative vcam"

Hi everyone!
Want to help explain the concerns that you've raised above.
1) Submission date: The user attempted to submit her video before the deadline, but there was an issue during the uploading process and I asked her to re-upload her VCAM. I'm sure that many of you can relate to having had issues when trying to upload videos to Current.com. After someone has gone through the effort to create a VCAM, I would hate from them to not be included in the assignment simply because of an uploading problem.
2) In the end, T-Mobile decided to go with a group of VCAMs to run on Current that specifically emphasize a broad range of the G1’s features. In an surprising twist, three of the selections are animated. I wouldn’t count on this being a trend moving forward; check out our past selections for some context here: http://current.com/onairvcams
If you have other questions or concerns about the selection, please write them here on Current.com or send me a message / email (vcam@current.com).

And what about using other "brand name" products in your VCAM like the winner that used an iPhone and other recognizable brands -is that OK for TV?

@KPaso Totally understand your concerns; we are still getting clarity around this issue. I'll get back as soon as I can.

I understand that the VCAM winners are chosen by the sponsor without regard necessarily to broadcast rules and regulations.
But I still want to know if it's OK to show/discredit a competing brand in your VCAM.

dgreene:
@KPaso I don't recommend it. In general, sponsors are looking for your to talk about the virtues of their brand / product, not denigrate the competition. I think that your spot is less likely to be selected if you discredit a competing brand.
I'll respond to the question about showing "brand name products in your VCAM below.

I'm a little confused on all that too.
This was my first time doing the VCAM thing so not sure if this is the normal way it works on here.

Great selections but I have the same question. I loved the animated ad but it was submitted a week after the deadline. Is that fair? Really?

Animation 3 to 1. Guess that's what people are looking for these days.

the winning selections were impressive. but this might as well have been a post production/ animation contest, considering the final selections.
cheers to Current and T Mobile and Google!

Congrats to the winners etc. etc.
2 Questions:
In one of the VCAMs the G1 is eating an iPhone. Can you show other name brands on TV?Also, one of the the VCAMs was submitted on 3/27 a week after the deadline - does it qualify?
