Claire is passionate about finding beauty and humor in the stranger sides of life. This manifests itself in the stories she chooses to direct. Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, Claire moved to England at three years old. She continued to move f from place to place, traveling domestically and internationally.


She received a BA (1st Class Joint Hons) in English Literature and Media Studies from Sussex University, Brighton in 2004, having spent a year at the UCLA School of Theater, Film, and Television on an Allaway Scholarship. Spending a year managing a restaurant, she soaked up story after story and with those packed her bags and headed back to California for an MFA in Film Production at USC.


In the Spring ?07, she was one of only four students to be chosen by USC?s Academy Award winning faculty to direct a film the school financed. Claire is also a scholarship recipient of Women in Film (Fall ?06 and Spring ?07), The Dante Foundation (Fall ?06) and The Mary Pickford Student Assistant (Fall ?06). She was awarded a grant by Heineken to direct a music video for Low Stars Just Around the Corner. Claire writes and directs commercials, shorts and music videos. collapse »
