Leah Meyerhoff was born in San Francisco and attended high school in Berkeley, California. She graduated with Honors from Brown University in 2001 with a Bachelor’s degree in Art-Semiotics. She spent the following year studying film at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she also taught at the undergraduate level and founded an art gallery. Leah is currently studying on a full scholarship at New York University, where she is pursuing a Master’s degree in Film.

While at NYU, Leah directed TWITCH, a short film portraying a young girl's irrational fear that her mother's disability is contagious. A Slamdance Grand Jury Prize winner and Student Academy Award finalist, TWITCH has screened in over 100 film festivals worldwide, including Cannes, Palm Springs, Chicago, Woodstock, Clermont-Ferrand, Brooklyn and Milan. TWITCH has won over a dozen international awards and was picked up for distribution by IFC.

Leah has since completed several music videos. TEAM QUEEN, a gender-bending, fire breathing, post-punk music video for Triple Creme has won numerous awards and is now airing on LOGO. ETERNAL FLAME, a burlesque music video for Joan As Police Woman, was recently picked up by MTV Europe. Both music videos continue to screen at festivals worldwide, including NewFest, Frameline, Reeling, Miami LGBT and Outfest.
