Current TV and Keith Olbermann to Provide Special LIVE Morning Coverage and Analysis of Murdoch Testimony Before UK Parliament

"Countdown Special Report: Murdoch testifies" begins at 9:15 a.m. ET through 12 p.m. ET.

(New York, NY) July 15, 2011 – Current TV will present live coverage of Rupert and James Murdoch’s testimony before the UK Parliament’s Culture, Media and Sport Committee from London on Tuesday morning, July 19 when it airs “Countdown Special Report: Murdoch Testifies,” for US viewers. Keith Olbermann will host the special morning segment, which will begin at 9:15 a.m. ET through 12 p.m. ET and will feature his exclusive commentary and analysis as well as views from “Countdown” contributors and Murdoch-watchers.

Additionally, at 9 p.m. ET Tuesday, Current will air a two-hour highlight edition of the morning’s proceedings.

Rupert and James Murdoch, who head the giant News Corporation media conglomerate, which includes the embattled News International newspaper unit and Fox News, are scheduled to testify along with former News of the World editor Rebekah Brooks, who last week resigned as CEO of News International. The Murdoch’s and Brooks are under investigation by both UK and US authorities for their role in a rapidly escalating phone hacking and cover up scandal.

In addition, the “Countdown” team will provide a live blog of the Murdoch testimony on current.com/countdown and via Twitter (follow @CountdownKO and #KOnewscorp).
