If I had to choose between being member of a Swiss Democracy,
and a bee Democracy, you wouldn't need to bet on the outcome. - 1 year ago

Lynch mobs do democracy better than we. A republic is still better than a democracy.

why is a republic better than a democracy?

A republic is a system of laws equally applied to all who live under that republic. A true democracy is simply governance by majority. A democracy makes it possible for a large group of morons to overule a minority of people who are not as foolish. In a republic, the individual is protected by the law, even if the majority wants to rip his head off and shove it down his throat. The United States is a republic, not a democracy.

true, but there is merit to the initiative and referenda process in New England and the western states. Some times politicians are too slow to act, and are the last to realize when political tides have turned.

A republic doesn't inherently exclude democratic processes (otherwise, the referenda to which you refer, would not be allowed). It does require democratic processes to follow the guidance of law.

Republic...democracy...they are all coercion. Why not leave peaceful people alone and stop supporting this murderous/warmongering machine called government?!?

it would take a complete revolution to achieve benefits from libertarian state. Incremental steps make the system worse than the starting state or the end goal.

There is no place on the planet where peaceful people are left alone. In order to be left in peace, one has to have a pretty strong force protecting that peace. As disappointing as governments might be, the only existing alternative is unfortunately worse.

Did you not watch the whole video? The queen bee doesn't rule, she is just the egg-layer, her role is limited to reproduction.

No I didn't sorry, I stand corrected. I always assumed that because she is called the "Queen" that she was a monarch...how very interesting that she is merely the egg layer.
I am going to have to read up on this more...thanks.
