Practice pays off for Poly, QB: '4th and Forever' Friday Night Rewind
A hard week of practice seems to have paid off for the Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits. Especially for their outspoken team leader, quarterback Chaiyse Hales.

"We worked really hard on offense to keep up the tempo, but keep it on our side," Hales said. "That's what we planned on and that's what we did."
Hales looked at ease in the pocket all night and showed of his renewed confidence with an 18-yd TD strike to Earnest Pettway.
"I am very comfortable. I always was comfortable, " Hales said, "But I am more comfortable now."
After easing the Poly to the big win over longtime rival Lakewood High, Hales said he finally hoped to have erased any doubt about who should be leading the Jackrabbit offense.
"Everybody will probably see me as more of a leader and not just a quiet quiet quarterback," Hales said. "Because that is what I am not."
