Smith scores, then suffers: '4th and Forever' Friday Night Rewind
There was plenty for Cal Poly High players to celebrate in a 59-0 victory over rivals Millikan.
Maybe a little too much.
After catching a first-down pass from QB Chaylse Hales, Poly's WR Richard Smith, juked a defender and outran 5 others on his way down the sideline and into the end zone.
Hales was impressed with the 60-yard effort, and ran to congratulate him along with the rest of his Jackrabbit teammates. But by the time he made it down the field the speedster already had drawn a flag for his post-score celebration.
"C'mon man," Hales said to Smith. "You got a flag, stupid."
