Team photo: It all starts here

"Family on three! One, two, three…"
This picture could tell more than its requisite 1,000 words. In this sneak peek from Current's new series, "4th and Forever," a new team photo symbolizes the beginning of a new season -- and behind each face is a long list of hopes and dreams that are about be put into action.
Many of Poly's players see football as their way to a better life, a chance to escape the violent streets and negative influences around them, and get a ticket to college or -- at best -- into the NFL.
It's a longshot, of course, but Poly's illustrious program has sent more players to the NFL than any other high school in America. And that's the path these players are looking to follow.
And it all starts here: With the pre-season team photo, with the pre-game group huddle, with the rallying call-and-response:
"We are family! We are Poly! It takes all of us!"
"4th and Forever" chronicles the 2010 football season of Long Beach Polytechnic High School, touted by Sports Illustrated as the "Sports School of the Century" and boasts the largest roster of high school players who have gone on to the NFL.
After decades of success, Poly had a down year in 2009. They had their worst season in 15 years and lost to local rival Lakewood for the first time in over 25 years. After years of being pegged as "the team to beat," the aura of invincibility is gone. The players are worried that their hopes for a college scholarship have dimmed. The clock is ticking and the question is: Can Head Football Coach Raul Lara pull the team together for one more season of greatness? And, can the players avoid the temptations of the street, succeed in the classroom, and emerge victorious on the field?
"4th and Forever" premieres Thursday, May 26 at 9/8c on Current TV.
