The story of A-bomb survivor Toshie Une

As some of you may already know, today was the anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. Here’s a partially-translated “NEWS ZERO” report about Toshie Une, a 90-year-old woman who still remembers the horrors she experienced on August 6, 1945:

    • This is as touching as it is interesting. The drawings are quite horrifying. If you visit Hiroshima now, it's an ordinary city. But the museum and memorial park are a popular places for commemoration and education.

      If you're feeling brave and want to see a dramatised account of the bombing and the aftermath, try the animated movie BAREFOOT GEN, written by another survivor.
