The company has begun a 30 day consultation period, during which the free evening paper will still be published, but after that, Londoners will have to rely solely on The London Lite for their tube and bus reading fodder.

I wonder how many jobs will be lost by this! And I wonder if it will be made into a crap front page headline or if they'll just quietly go away.

Silly as it sounds, I've never really thought of them as 'real' people. To be they've just been annoying faceless robots.
Now I'm inclined to talk to them or, at the very least, accept the papers they thrust on me (presumably they've got to offload so many?)

If it means the London Lite is also on the way out that would be good. But there will always be free sheets and it's a shame we'll be having less choice.
I will go back to reading books in the evening now!

Its about time, what a waste of paper. A friend of mine has started an organisation to try to counter the tonnes of drivel handed out to commuters, and get them reading proper books instead.. You can find out a bit more here.
