This chart breaks down the percentage of women who believe it is OK for their husbands to hit them, by country. Pretty shocking if you ask me.

    • how do they define domestic violence and what fall within the parameters, because i doubt if you asked any of these women if they liked being hit they'd tell you yes. but if they tolerate it and make an excuse, that's another story

    • i hate to think this is the case, so im gonna try and question it away.. is there a context? such as a 'hit me back" connotation, with the bias of fair trade or shared experience? did the poll instruct or encourage a answer of the cultural climate, or personally held beliefs? is the institution of 'shared experience' striking anyone else as a precursor to domestic abuse?(kinda lit a bulb for me) would the term of companion instead of husband encourage more moral authority with the womens bodies? are husbands considered companions for these women - or the sole figures of authority? is abusive authority imported to these countries along with our concerns for these women?
