Reuters confuses giraffe's tail for a penis - as you do...

I got accused of twisting words in a story I posted to Current earlier. 'Twisting' being a euphemism for er, making shit up - all so that I'd trick loads of people into reading my post.

Ahem, let me state for the record that I never do such things and would NEVER do such things. What's the point of getting lots of eyeballs looking at a story only to completely and utterly piss off the people who are attached to them?

People would soon stop looking at anything I post making the whole exercise counter-productive.

What's this all about? Well a bunch of trusted news sites ran with a story about a Lego giraffe's penis being repeatedly being stolen. They were all running a story from Reuters that, for some reason or other claimed it had been a penis when in actual fact it was a tail.

Reuters, as well as many mainstream news organisations, have now corrected the story to reflect the true nature of this dastardly crime.

Both stories can be seen in their entirety at Regret the Error. As you'll see from the original, I didn't just make a bunch of shit up in a desperate attempt to up my post's views.

Cool?
