Sunday trading in the UK is 15 years old

As strange as it may seem today, back in 1994 there wasn't a great deal to do for half the weekend. Shops were shut, as were many other things - such as pubs and leisure facilities (either completely or for part of the day).
Previous governments and religious folk wanted you to spend time with the family - whether you wanted to or not!
Personally, I'm okay with Sunday trading - the only thing I miss is walking around deserted town centres during the middle of the day. That was always a bizarre, '28 Days Later'-esque feeling... kinda cool and kinda creepy at the same time.

I was born in '86, but vaguely remember that change. It is a shame we have trading every single day of the week, it just makes it seem like all we care about is money. Time is money, time is money. Shame.
