Oh my goodness, I certainly didn't expect to see something like this today! The first words that came to mind when I saw this macabre scene were that it's very creepy, but at the same time so oddly cool. It must be some place in Paris, down deep in the dark Catacombs there. I wonder if my bones will have that rich color? Will my skull's eyes have that show of wisdom? Or will both my bones and eye sockets be blank?
Hate to say this, it sounds weirdly irreverent, but the longer I look at these skulls and bones in the low light, they start to look like coffee beans! This looks so nice and clean, I mean the the photograph, definitely not the skulls! The photographer of this captured a nice shot, very well handled flash. Yes, it's very creepy, but strangely alluring too

When I visited the Catacombs, after I got over my awe and appreciation for the intricate patterns the bones were placed in, I had to take the thoughtfully provided shortcut to the exit. I'm not the queasy type, but it got to me emotionally.
As I recall, these were reburials due to overcrowded cemeteries, not mass burials of plague victims.

Hi kennymotown,
Yes, you're absolutely right...it is in the underground Catacombs of Paris.
Best wishes to you.

Yes I do believe that is Paris, during the plaque they had to bury millions down there.
