state of israel is said in terms of geographical clarity such as "nation state".
to say israel one could be refering to the son of abraham(isacc who was later known as israel) or to a race of people ie the people of israel.
the subliminal effect of calling israel the state of israel is to re-enforce the idea that they have a right to exist.
when anti-semites say that jews have no right to live no less in the middle east having israel known as the state of israel discounts that notion. of course the jews have a right to exist they have a state in the middle east

I always wondered why they call it the STATE of israel, you have to have a county first before you have a state like I live in California a STATE in the U.S. Can somebody tell me the reason. I am really asking.

When you steal land that does not belong to you, cut off food, water, medical supplies etc you will end up in those courts again and be tried for crimes against humanity. You will be convicted and you will suffer the same fate as those 60 years before you.

Most of these settlements are not recognized by the world and are considered Illegal Settlements according the the UN and International law. The reason being is that Israel is occupying Palestine, an officially recognized state of law.
