Man rows around the world, never leaving Basingstoke

Basingstoke man, Dave Holby, is rowing around the world from the comfort of a shopping centre in the north Hampshire town. I say 'comfort' rather lightheartedly as it will take two-and-a-half years of hard slog outside Primark.

Why would anyone subject themselves to that? Charity. In this case, Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Dave's been rowing for up to eight hours a day, five days a week in his attempt to be the first person to 'virtually' row around the world.

The attempt can be followed on Twitter @worldrecordrow and here: http://blog.worldrecordrow.com/
