Players Refuse to Play for Rush

Limbaugh and alike obviously have the right to spew whatever madness they see fit and as long as the ratings and book deals keep rolling in they will certainly keep right on spewing. What they fail to realize is although their speech is protected it is not without consequence. Limbaugh is learning this the hard way. The haters are painting themselves into a small corner of society. Let them - but we don't want to hear any bitching from their sad lonely mouths when they find themselves stuck there with no one to play with but themselves.

Besides we need to go back to playing good old football. No more of this mambee-pambee can't tackle this way this year, or can't tackle the other team with out asking if it's ok? Or we'll fine the players for playing football. "Oh, my....sombunny's gonna git hurted"

That's right. Bite off your nose to spite your face. Hope he buys the jerks! They'll sing a different story when they've violated their contracts and become unemployed and free agents.
I'm sure there are more than enough qualified football players looking for a chance to play professional football.

So basically what you're saying is pick the damn cotton and be happy boy?
You can't just go around inciting racism and throwing out incendiary remarks and not expect to get burned. Do you really think the NFL would risk ratings for this idiot? ESPN sure didn't.

risk ratings?
That's what happens if you use an MSNBC person not when you use talk radio or a Fox person.
Face facts.

What? You realize that made absolutely no sense - right?
Why don't you provide some facts to whatever it was you were trying to say and clear it up for us.
Now as a point of fact Rush WAS on ESPN before he opened his mouth and let his racism come rolling out. He was summarily dismissed forthwith. See those are facts. Oddly, in contrast to what I think you were trying to say Sunday Night Football has an MSNBC personality gainfully employed as we speak. More of those pesky facts my friend.
More on topic, have you thought this through? You are actually trying to justify a professed racist becoming an owner of a predominantly minority manned establishment? Step back and think that through before you ramble.

Because they don't like him. I could care less. I was only commenting on your statement about ratings. People get fired from jobs all the time. You probably been fired...maybe you haven't....but most people have been fired. It was rightfully done and sometimes it just wrong but done for "fake" right reasons.
Maybe you should speak about people without getting so emotionally entangled. Stick to the facts.

eldamon, What did my comment have to do with racism?
Where on earth did you come up with that? We're talking about professional football players. Football players are hired for their ability and skill not by their skin color or religion. Look at my Pittsburgh Steelers! they are a great team. All American everyone of them. - 2 years ago

Why don't we just check the replay sports fans. I asserted the NFL would not risk their standing the same way ESPN didn't. That's evident of Rush's dismissal which is common knowledge - fact, if you will.
You came back with some indeterminable response and I asked for "facts" for clarification.
You offered an off base opinion with NO facts, as I suspected, then begged for the facts I had already provided.
I asked a simple question, why was Rush fired and instead of an intelligent answer you could have easily found you decided I was responsible. Again, I appreciate your admiration although yet again out of context.
I would say that was an emotional response brought on by more and more frustration. You know there's no shame in asking for help or simply admitting lack of knowledge - in fact it's the first step to learning.
Feel free to check the record of this conversation for points of reference and massage the "data" by yourself for a while before attempting social interaction. I'm sure you can handle that.

First of all I was not aware of any comment Limbaugh said in regards to any football players.
Second I checked the whole situation out regarding the said comment.
Third What I know of Rush Limbaugh is because he was a DJ here in Pittsburgh back in the Am early Fm days and pushed the limit in regards to what the usual accepted AM radio fare was at that time.
Forth this is the actual statement he said in regard to the media's response to the Eagle's game,
"I think what we've had here is a little social concern in the NFL. The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well," Limbaugh said. "There is a little hope invested in McNabb, and he got a lot of credit for the performance of this team that he didn't deserve. The defense carried this team."
Before Limbaugh resigned, ESPN released an official statement Wednesday night.
ESPN did not fire him over his comment, that's what he was hired to do, make comments regarding teams and the players per their games!

Excerpt OpEd:
Rush Limbaugh has made so many racist and borderline racist comments throughout his career, that it shouldn't come as a big surprise when he goes way over the line. But it's still jarring to hear it.After all, this is man who told an African-American caller, "Take that bone out of your nose and call me back." Who said, "Have you ever noticed how all composite pictures of wanted criminals resemble Jesse Jackson?" Then later said, "The NAACP should have riot rehearsal. They should get a liquor store and practice robberies."

You're going all self righteous right now and if you didn't say that about Jeremiah Wright then why are you bothering with Rush?
Because you know full well he said worst things than Rush.

I have no idea what kind of remarks Limbaugh said, I guess, Chique, you listen to him!
Hey, he's evidently getting listeners because he's making millions of dollars.
It's show business.
Funny though, how 'right slanted' commentators can keep ratings higher than any of the others combined, Must be a lot of 'left slanted' listeners listening to them, right?
I just checked out the ratings of fox news Red Eye at 3 AM. it's ratings beat CNN's 8 o"clock ratings, says a lot for CNN! - 2 years ago

Diesel - So, it's about money and show business that should trump integrity . . . and it's about Rush's ratings that justify his hatred that you seem so proud of. Don't know what to tell you. Personally, I'm sick to death of the hatred and everyone afflicted with the disease because of what it's doing to this country.

Say that Jeremiah Wright was wrong just as much as you think Rush is...because Jeremiah spewed hate if Rush did. They said similar things just about different races.

Let me be clear with you JJ. I am not going to get goaded into a Jeremiah Wright debate with you simply because it will never end. When the Wright issue was discussed on Current I made my position clear then. You're the last person I am open to discussing it further with because you don't listen anyway so it's a waste of time. So get the last word in and troll somewhere else.

You guys are so funny. As if any player even has a choice about where he plays ball. They are bought and sold regularly. The players can bitch all they want , it doesn't mean anything. Players are a commodity.

I love that football players try to have some sort of sense of "morals".
Is this before or after they have a night of sex with fans and do drugs?
I agree that they have every right, just like he does to speak, to choose who they support....but it still funny that they think they're better.
