Republicans Use Nobel Peace Prize To Bash Obama

Whether or not one believe it’s too early in the game for a new president to receive the Nobel Peace Prize, you would think it would be considered an honor and a feather in the cap of America. But that’s not the way Republicans are looking at it. Josh Greenman in the New York Daily News refers to it as “a gift to Republicans.” Also saying Obama's Nobel Peace Prize win mocks the award.

Michael Steele, GOP Chair, hits Obama over the head with the prize:”The real question Americans are asking is, ‘What has President Obama actually accomplished?’ It is unfortunate that the president’s star power has outshined tireless advocates who have made real achievements working towards peace and human rights. One thing is certain – President Obama won’t be receiving any awards from Americans for job creation, fiscal responsibility, or backing up rhetoric with concrete action.”

Erick Erickson of Red State Tweeted that Obama received the honor only because of affirmative action quotas the commission had to meet.

Glenn Beck said Obama should turn down the Nobel Peace Prize and give it ‘to the Tea Party goers and the 9-12 Project.’
