Driver charged for splashing school kids [video]

The not-at-all-funny (honest) video shows the woman speeding down a hill towards the water while a male passenger shouts "Puddle at the bottom of the hill coming up, kids at the bottom of the hill - come on!"
The driver's claimed the kids wanted to be splashed though judging from the video, the size of the puddle and the drowning the received, they'd have to have been somewhat suicidal.

It's no wonder youngsters don't like adults.
In the UK young kids are molly coddled to the hilt and when they become adolescents they are demonized. And then you have idiots like these two behaving so recklessly. What's a young person to think?
We all love a bit of a laugh and some practical joking but this was stupidity of the highest calibre. There is just not enough quality, responsible thinking happening.
I really hope her car is taken away from her for a while. A long while.

Sorry if I made it sound like its OK to soak someone you do know!! I would not even do this to my ex, but I would send him somewhere cold and wet.

I have been splashed several times and its not funny, just spiteful. What is so funny about soaking somebody you dont even know? It IS a dangerous practice, lets face it, lost of idiots who do this kind of thing cant even drive properly in good conditions, let alone wet ones.
To all wallies who have done this or plan to, I wish you transmission failure somewhere cold, very wet and remote. It will still be a better fate than the car crash you risk when you do this. - 2 years ago

I just love the way such an inane act can lead to the development of the splendid new word "Happysplash".

Ok so the drivers had to have been adults, but what kind of adult wants to do that to a bunch of kids? it's sad and pathetic.

I think its one of the funniest video's I've seen on YouTube in ages, just the sheet of water that sprays up is immense.
Yes it is careless and yes she could have lost control but as anyone who has studied physics knows the chances of her hitting the kids is near impossible as she would have lost control after passing the kids and therefore only injuring herself and her male passenger

There could've been children further down the road, plus there's the possibility of skidding into another car.
I guess the main reason I don't find it funny is because I don't drive, I walk - and I get soaked by careless drivers every time we have rain showers. Excuse my French but it really f***s me off, especially if I don't have a change of clothes.

Great thinking!!
What about any other road users she may have hit while 'injuring herself and her male passenger'?
What is so funny about a sheet of water and people getting soaked? I hope to see you laughing your head off if you happens to you on your way to an important meeting or a special date. - 2 years ago

Complete and utter idiots. I'm glad they're getting done for this - it doesn't matter if the kids wanted to be splashed or not.
Like it's been said already, they could've lost control of the car and were clearly going too fast - especially considering the road conditions (and, er, driving down a hill).
As someone that got covered in muddy water last week 'cos some arsehole wouldn't slow down - I hope they get a nice fat fine and lots of points on their license!

What would have made it funny is if she had flooded her engine.

Hm, the audio sounded more like a voice over, and not actual audio recorded during the incident.
That said, from the video, she could have easily moved over a couple of feet to avoid splashing them.
Jerk.

I think the losing control part was why she was charged with careless driving
Can't believe they were stupid enough to video it and put in up on YouTube - Hope it doesn't start a new trend of "Happy Splashing"

Hate to be a killjoy but what if they had lost control in the deep puddle and killed all the innocent kids waiting at the bus stop. Don't think shouty passenger man would think that was so BRILLIANT!
