Speaking as a former employee of Subway, I can confirm that it simply isn't as fresh as it claims to be. The bread dough comes frozen, which is then retarded & baked (a process which gives all Subways that weird smell), and the meats all come frozen which are defrosted over night.
I for one would like to see how Subway lights up North America compared to Mcdonalds on a map like this one we saw last month. Is "eating fresh" burning brighter? It's definitely big business here in the UK.

Subway is ok to me as far as taste goes, but I can't stand being in one of the stores. The smell makes me sick to my stomach. That isn't a problem for me at Quizno's or any other subshop. Wonder why that is...

I grew up in Bridgeport Connecticut..
I remember the first Subway shop. We use to walk from Central High School to Subway and eat the meatball sausage grinder sandwich.. What a treat !!!
They have come a long way from Milford, Connecticut.

I find food to be much fresher, tastier, and cheaper when I buy the ingredients and assemble the sandwiches myself (and I'm not talking bologna and Wonder Bread). If I'm in a hurry or don't have the option of making my own meal in advance, then I select one of the healthy-ish alternatives at a franchise restaurant. Both Subway and McDonald's have ridiculous calorie-saturated options AND more sensible ones. But, as with all foods, moderation is important. Jared may have lost weight on a Subway diet, but that also meant he wasn't ordering the foot-long meatball sub every day.

There's a little TOO many where I live, there's one across the street from me, one in the food court I work in (which is a 5 minute walk from where I LIVE), three down the street, two up the street, and nine more just scattered around.

Subway is still better than most all other fast food joints. I like there subs plus You can see the product before it goes on your sandwich. I like that because if it don't look good you can have it left off the sub. Besides the fact I like sub sandwichs and Theres one in most every town.

let's really think about it...
they don't fry anything, and you have better options you see get placed on your sandwich, and you don't wait at a window in your car while some hidden "cook" in the back makes your food, than it appears at your window.
subway is better, it's only what you order that will make it bad. but looking at their overall choices of veggies, cold cuts, you can easily see they have a majority of healthy choices. mcd's, you think, burgers and fries. which sounds better people??
and at least all their sauces aren't given to you in a cheap little plastic container or packet. and you have low-fat alternatives at subway too.

There are about 4 different Subways I've had the displeasure of being sent to. They are all the same, the employees aren't paid enough, and they are often understaffed.
If I can't survive off of the wages of a place, I don't want to be a customer there. I'd rather pay more than contribute to slavery....

Here in Chicago, there seems to be a Subway on almost every street corner. You have to look kind of hard to find a McDonald's. There also seems to be a Dunkin' Donuts on almost every street corner too.

A smack in the face to my favorite sandwich chain - Quizno's.
But moving on, I'm not quite sure what the nutritional value of a Subway club would be but something tells me it's a bit better than a Quarter Pounder with cheese.
I could be wrong though.
I once saw a man load up his once 'healthy' sandwich with extra ranch, extra cheese, double the meat, and extra bacon. I just wanted to turn to this guy, who was behind me, and say, "dude, wrong restaurant."

Agreed, Quizno's is where it's @. On top of their subs being way better I think their employees actually get paid...

Fast food is fast food but honestly, at subway you have the choice of having a meal that's perhaps 700 less cals. that at McD's. Anyway, do you grow your food?some of the shit you buy at groceries is not at all better than fast food places.
