Here's quite an odd story. A pair of twins were sharing a cell at HMP Winchester. Both were awaiting court appearances. The one on remand for the most serious offence, Simon Maclellan, pretended to be the one remand for a lesser offence, Mark Maclellan.
Simon took advantage of the fact Mark was on a lesser charge, pretending to be him when the guards came to collect his brother. Later that day, Simon walked free from Fareham Magistrates Court.
