That was very nicely done!

haha, just thought it was great that they changed the traditional colors used to represent these groups... Makes a point in its own analytical way :)

The funny thing about left and right is that before we identify ourselves as being on one side or the other, most of us get along just fine. We love our kids, want our neighborhoods to be safe and clean, and love our country. Too bad we are all so ornery.

Trying matters, though. If more people try, then more progress can be made.

It does seem silly to classify people based on the seating arrangements of the 1791 French Assembly.
I try to be cordial to people on here regardless of their beliefs, although I've admittedly been mean to the Obama birth certificate conspiracy theorists (I've decided to just ignore them, however).

hahaha, jammer, you are honestly one of the worst at that... I have never seen anyone throw around the word liberal as a derogatory term more... But yes, I agree, we should all stop using parties to define and make decisions for us.

I agree with a couple of other commenters that there has been a marked increase in nastiness and hostility on the Right side of the aisle (for example, the average "Internet tough guy" is right-wing), although I owe that partly to conservatism's intellectual decline.

Why don't you pull an Obama and demand for some people to be shut down because they don't agree with you?

Good charts, pretty basic ideas and some blending does take place in many peoples minds! If you have to classify ideas between the party's this a good start.

I'm with Chique and samthesixth; it is pretty simplistic.
But there is something quite ironic about self-described Christians who reject the theory of evolution, but are "law of the jungle" social Darwinists (William Jennings Bryan must be spinning in his grave).

And a couple of strings on social lives could also be added on the Right side since most Republicans support anti-drug laws.

"I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." - Liberal Thinker.
"Americans will respect your beliefs if you just keep them private." - Conservative Thinker.
I don't agree with everything it said in the comparison. There are many people who don't subscribe to the general consensus of viewpoints of either party. Still, this does well to highlight the generalizations on both sides of the mainstream political forums.
The real problem is that people align themselves to their beliefs so tightly that people who believe differently are perceived as an enemy. It's one thing to disagree with each other about politics; it's a whole different thing to actively attempt to silence those who hold a different set of morals or political beliefs. As long as your ideas do not harm anyone, you should be free to believe them and other should respect your viewpoints.

Yep, it's a sad commentary. I figure the racism in this country will finally and completely end when all of the races finally blend together so you can't tell the difference between one person and next anymore. Wish it could be that simple as far as individual belief systems are concerned. But there was that one all too fleeting moment right after 9-11 when we were all just Americans.

They are both stereotyped in their own ways, but it also makes a conclusion: that we should either combine them both or destroy them both....
It makes no sense for the two to be destined to constantly fight each other...

The charts are a little too stereotyped on both sides but accurate for many. Some issues on the graph have gray areas and aren't all that black and white, (or better yet, blue and red). I wonder if a chart for independents was added where they would be on the issues?
