Lots, according to the RSPCA in New Zealand. The society has shut down a small rural town's yearly rabbit-lobbing competition after they got wind of it.
"Do you throw your dead grandmother around for a joke at her funeral?" asked animal cruelty inspector Charles Cadwallader.
Well, not for the whole thing but, you know...

Urm... why bunnies though? There are plenty of other animals to toss, plenty of possum in New Zealand and they are vermin.

How is killing something purely for fun/sport humane in any way? Humane in reference to animal killing usually refers to animals killed for others to survive (food), or to lessen their own suffering (veterinary).
I don't care if you approve of the practice, but please don't refer to it as humane, because it most obviously isn't.

Because the animals are likely killed for the sole purpose of throwing them.

Nah, I've heard New Zealand has a huge wild bunny population and presumably the number of rabbits are controlled by yearly culling. The locals are just ensuring the bunnies aren't killed in vain but will bring joy an laughter to little children even after death.
